El Canto Del Cavallero
A Harpsichord Recital by Ignacio Prego

Queen Sofia Spanish Institute, New York, USA
October 16th, 2013

On October 16th, 2013 at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York, Spanish harpsichordist Ignacio Prego presented a program that takes its name from a piece written by the great Antonio de Cabezón, "Diferencias sobre el Canto del Cavallero" (sic).

The recital was a journey through three centuries of Spanish keyboard music. It started in the mid-16th century in the Court of Felipe II and finished in the mid-18th century with the popular Fandango by Antonio Soler. Prego was joined by prestigious music scholar Dr. David Schulenberg who lectured on the pieces that Prego played.
